Your home’s been ready for sale and listed for quite some time, but no one’s taken a bite. Sound familiar? Due to an
ever-changing real estate market, properties have a tendency to get shuffled around in the fray, leaving home
sellers like you with a perfectly good home waiting for your perfect buyer for months on end. However, with the
right strategy, your property can go from lost in the fray to sold with ease.

Price your home to sell

When pricing your home, it can be easy to fall into the trap of listing it for higher than needed because of
sentimental value. However, an overpriced home can be a big deterrence to potential homebuyers.

Instead, work with your real estate agent to examine local market trends for similar properties, and price your home
accordingly. If your home’s been on the market for a while, dropping the price just slightly under market value can
also attract more buyers, providing you with more options and decent profit from your home sale.

Stick to tight deadlines

It’s essential to abide by all contingency dates during the home sale process – like your home inspection completion,
depositing of funds into escrow accounts, getting the appropriate signatures and more.

It’s a great idea to put all dates in a purchase agreement. This way, all interactions and concurrences are legally
accounted for. From there, set reminders on your smartphone or other devices to ensure you don’t miss those
deadlines.

Conduct an early home inspection

By completing an early inspection of your home before listing it, you cut down on the time it would have taken for a
potential homebuyer to order and pay for their own.

This also allows you to pinpoint problems with the property potential homebuyers may have an issue with if not fixed
beforehand.

The home selling process can be long; however, working with your real estate agent can help to get the job
done.
